The NINEJP Secretariat ("the Secretariat") handles personal information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan ("Personal Information Protection Act") and has established the following privacy policy ("Policy") to govern the management of such information.

In accordance with Article 23, Paragraph 5, Item 3 of the Personal Information Protection Act, we may jointly use personal information (personal data) as follows:

  • Co-providers of NINEJP services.

  • Same as listed in Section 1 above.

3. Provision to Third Parties

We will not provide personal information (personal data) to third parties (including those located outside Japan) without the individual's prior consent, except in the following cases:

  • When outsourcing the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use.
  • When providing personal information as part of a business succession, such as through a merger.
  • When otherwise permitted by law.

4. Responding to Requests for Disclosure

Upon receiving a request from an individual to disclose their personal information (retained personal data), and after confirming the identity of the requester, we will promptly disclose the information. If the relevant personal information does not exist, we will notify the individual accordingly. However, we may decline the request if disclosure is not required under the Personal Information Protection Act.

5. Responding to Requests for Correction, Suspension of Use, etc.

Upon receiving a request from an individual to correct, update, delete, restrict the use of, or suspend the provision of their personal information (retained personal data), and after confirming the identity of the requester, we will promptly investigate and take appropriate action based on the results. We will notify the individual whether or not the requested action was taken. However, we may decline the request if we are not obligated to comply under the Personal Information Protection Act.

6. Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies
